How do I install the plugin?

Automatic: In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New, search “File Uploader for WooCommerce,” then install and activate. Configure it under WooCommerce → Settings → File Uploader Settings.

Manual: Download the plugin package, extract it, and upload the folder to wp-content/plugins via FTP/SFTP. Then activate it from the Plugins screen in WordPress admin.

How do I activate the Pro plugin?

After subscribing, download the Pro plugin, deactivate the free version, then upload and activate the Pro version. Enter the license email and password you received under WooCommerce → Settings → File Uploader Settings to finish activation.

Where are my customers' files stored?

On the Free plan, files are stored locally on your WordPress server and on Uploadcare's CDN. On Pro, files are stored exclusively on Uploadcare's CDN, delivered over secure HTTPS straight from the customer's browser. Neither Snowray nor Uploadcare accesses or analyzes uploaded content. What happens if I exceed my upload limit?

Free stores get 500 uploads a month; Pro stores get 10,000. If you're consistently going over, upgrading or contacting support about a higher-volume plan is the fastest fix. Nothing breaks, but new uploads pause until your limit resets.

Where are the File Uploader settings?

In your WordPress admin: WooCommerce → Settings → File Uploader Settings tab.

Installation instructions

Automatic install

  1. In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New.
  2. Search for “File Uploader for WooCommerce.”
  3. Click Install, then Activate.
  4. Go to WooCommerce → Settings → File Uploader Settings, and enter your email and password to sign up and activate the plugin.

Manual install

  1. Download the plugin package and extract the files.
  2. Create a File Uploader for WooCommerce folder in wp-content/plugins and upload the extracted files into it via FTP/SFTP.
  3. Activate the plugin from the Plugins screen in WordPress admin.
  4. Go to WooCommerce → Settings → File Uploader Settings, and enter your email and password to sign up and activate the plugin.

Switching to Pro

  1. Download the Pro plugin package after subscribing.
  2. Deactivate the Free version.
  3. Upload and activate the Pro version.
  4. Check your email for your activation credentials.
  5. Enter your email and password under WooCommerce → Settings → File Uploader Settings to activate.

When you use our Plugin, we collect limited information to provide functionality, support, and licensing:

  • Email address and domain name used for activation.
  • User ID (from your WordPress site) to associate uploaded files with a specific user.
  • Uploaded files: in the free version, files are stored locally on your WordPress server as well as in Uploadcare's CDN; in the PRO version, files are stored exclusively in Uploadcare's CDN.

We do not collect or store any other personal information from your site visitors or customers.

2. Uploadcare as a File Storage Provider

We use Uploadcare Inc. as a backend file storage service for our Plugin. Uploadcare handles file storage, processing, and delivery on your behalf.

  • Files are uploaded directly from the user's browser to Uploadcare using secure HTTPS endpoints.
  • We do not access, view, or analyze any uploaded content (e.g., images, documents).
  • In accordance with Uploadcare's policy, they also do not use or analyze uploaded content for their own purposes.

Your data remains private and under your control at all times.

3. How We Use Collected Data

We use collected data only to enable plugin activation and licensing, provide customer support and respond to inquiries, and link uploaded files to a user ID for tracking within the plugin.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties, except as required to operate the plugin or by law.

4. Cookies and Analytics

Our website (snowray.co) uses Google Analytics to help us understand user behavior and improve our services. We display a cookie consent banner in accordance with EU regulations. We do not embed tracking or analytics in the Plugin itself.

5. Your Rights and Data Deletion

You have the right to request access to the personal data we store, and to request that we delete your data or files uploaded via the Plugin. To make a request, contact us at support@snowray.co with your activation email and domain.

6. Who Can Use the Plugin?

Our Plugin is intended for WooCommerce store owners and developers who want to allow customers to upload files with their orders. You do not need to create an account on our website, but email activation is required to use the Plugin.
